The treatment pathway Back

When a couple accesses the Centre, there is an initial meeting with the specialist doctor and another with the Centre's psychologist. From here on, the doctor-couple team is set up, which will take all decisions together.

Initially, patients make an appointment. A first interview with a physician will determine the cause of infertility. The meeting with the psychologist will explain the psychological support.
The first interview lasts about 2 hours. (60 minutes for the medical part and to 60 minutes for the psychological part).

The medical consultation is undertaken with the aim of defining the diagnosis and prescribing the appropriate therapy to be implemented. All the reports the patient possesses are analysed in order to prescribe any tests to be performed and the relevant medical therapy. In the medical interview, the history of the infertility is gathered, in order to investigate any hereditary and individual reproductive disorders, as well as shedding light on the possible causes of infertility. The couple receives an explanation of the diagnostic and therapeutic steps to follow. Finally, a treatment is proposed.
The couple is informed about any potential risks and receives documentation on what was discussed and the cost of the treatment chosen.

Psychological consultation is carried out to analyse any psychosexual factors that may hinder the conception, giving any therapeutic indications to patients and/or psychologically preparing them to face the fertilisation techniques indicated. A psychological assessment is then discussed with the Centre's doctors.
