Accreditation

The Laboratory is guided by the mission and quality policy of the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale in providing services to its clients. In particular, our efforts are oriented in providing treating physicians with results that can be a safe basis for diagnostic clarification and patient care, all according to the most up-to-date scientific knowledge. Analysis on human specimens is the main activity that is carried out in a systematic quality management framework consistent with ISO 15189. Analyses performed on environmental samples and in the field of veterinary medicine comply with the requirements of ISO/CEI 17025. Our Laboratories have been accredited since 2003.

Nuclear medicine

By means of weakly emitting radioactive substances, early-stage pathologies can be detected in various fields, including oncology, cardiology, orthopedics, endocrinology, neurology, nephro-urology, gastroenterology, and pulmonology.

Pathology

Through analysis of biological specimens, diseases are identified and diagnoses are confirmed; advanced methods, provide crucial information to define the most appropriate treatment.

Radiology

Diagnostic radiology includes all procedures performed by X-ray, ultrasound, or MRI used to obtain detailed images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
