Highly specialized facility
The Institute is structured into four complementary services, which define its overall activities: the Service of Pharmacology and Clinical Toxicology, the Central Pharmacy Service (including hospital pharmacy, clinical pharmacy and public pharmacy), the Drug Center and the Regional Pharmacovigilance Center.
These primary responsibilities are complemented by a strong commitment to training and research. In terms of training, it is a recognized Center for obtaining the FMH in Pharmacology and Clinical Toxicology and the FPH in Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy. A USI reference partner for teaching clinical pharmacology and toxicology within the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, the Institute also maintains numerous collaborations with other Swiss universities in the area of undergraduate teaching.
On the research front, efforts are primarily aimed at advancing knowledge in clinical pharmacological areas with a direct impact on patient care.
