Emergency medicine includes both inpatient and out-of-hospital response, triage, stabilization, management and diagnosis of patients until discharge or transfer to another care service. The Emergency Department and Emergency Medicine EOC is responsible for managing the hospital response by continuing the rescue done by the out-of-hospital emergency services.
