Grants and Fundraising

Advice and support for EOC researchers to turn their research ideas into fundable projects.

What we do

The Grants and Fundraising Unit is the point of reference for participation in national, European and international research calls (Calls), as well as the coordination point for the management of fundraising from private donors for EOC-USI biomedical research. Funding calls represent a tool adopted by public and private grant-making entities, created in order to allocate research funds according to certain participation requirements .

Obtaining private funds, in the form of grants or donations earmarked for research projects, supports and encourages EOC researchers to work on innovative research projects that aspire to contribute to progress in the biomedical field.

Identification of potential calls/funders.

The office supports professors and researchers in identifying the types of funding most relevant to their field or a specific project idea.

Grant preparation and management

In case the researcher has already identified the call/opportunity to fund his or her project, the Office can also offer support in preparing and submitting the grant application to funding agencies. We invite EOC researchers to take advantage of the services offered by the Grants and Fundraising Unit via our intranet page and to consult the dedicated forms.

Fundraising activities through donations (fundraising)

The Unit also coordinates fundraising/donations (fundraising) activities for biomedical research projects through the EOC-USI Research Fund.

The EOC-USI Fund.

As part of the research collaboration agreement between the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale (EOC) and the University of Italian Switzerland (USI), the two organizations established the "EOC-USI Fund" to promote fundraising for biomedical research conducted by EOC researchers affiliated with the USI Faculty of Biomedical Sciences.

The project portfolio of the EOC-USI Fund.

Through the EOC-USI Fund's project portfolio, donors can connect with and support biomedical research projects that are conducted within the EOC by USI-affiliated professors.

How to work with us

EOC-USI researchers work closely with a variety of scientific partners through active participation in research consortia and academic networks funded by major government agencies and foundations.

If you would like to collaborate with us as a scientific partner or to support EOC research, please contact the Grants and Fundraising Unit:
