General pediatrics in hospital and emergency room settings mainly deals with pediatric patients with common diseases (e.g., bronchitis, pneumonia, gastroenteritis, upper airway infections, exanthema, etc.). Investigations, therapy and treatments are referred to the diagnosis made.

In situations where the diagnostic process does not lead to a definite diagnosis, pediatric specialists are promptly consulted in a multidisciplinary manner so as to complete the specialized investigations.

Play helps children cope better with hospitalization and illness. All locations have a family atmosphere and are equipped with dedicated playrooms. Teachers are present regularly and carry out various activities. The EOC's Child Maltreatment Interdisciplinary Group (GIMI) is a multidisciplinary advisory team of professional figures that supports the collection and analysis of reports on children, considering risk and protective factors, as well as elements such as the family, cultural, and socioeconomic environment, to safeguard the welfare of the child.
