Go to the sectionIstituto Oncologico della Svizzera Italiana brings together in a single organizational structure all the non-surgical specialties within the EOC that deal with cancer. The Institute is based on the "Comprehensive Cancer Centre" model. While the main office, located within the hospital buildings of San Giovanni in Bellinzona, deals with more complex therapies. Most oncology treatments can be carried out in the Institute's outpatient clinics located at the various EOC sites.
IOSI is one of the leading cancer clinical research centers in Switzerland. About 25 new clinical trials are activated each year, and about 60 clinical trials are open at the same time. Our goal is to be able to provide patients with access to innovative therapies and, by answering study-specific questions, gather information that may be useful for the treatment of future patients.
