Performance
The stomatherapist's activity towards patients and their care givers (caregivers or caregivers) consists of:
- offer counseling and accompaniment services to patients and his or her social entourage in the different stages of the disease (before and after surgery);
- supporting the person and his or her in the process of acceptance of the disease and self-image;
- treat and educate the patient/caregiver with respect to individual needs;
- supporting the patient to achieve as much autonomy as possible in personal care;
- preventing and resolving any complications;
- teaching medical/health care techniques;
- providing suggestions and information concerning current equipment (technical-financial aspects and health insurance), diet, clothing, sexuality, professional reintegration, and leisure time;
- cooperate with pharmacies and firms specializing in the sale of specific health materials;
- cooperate in the continuing education of caregivers.
