The childbirth preparation course, offered by the EOC Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, is a group course dedicated to couples expecting a child, in which moments of explanation, information, exchange, bodily activation and relaxation alternate in order to fully experience birth. The courses are led by one or more midwives from the hospital and are aimed at all couples, even those who are not at their first experience of parenthood.
During the meetings, topics related to pregnancy, labor, delivery and puerperium are addressed with the aim of:
8 meetings, 7 during pregnancy and one after delivery; starting from the 26th week of pregnancy.
Relaxation and body activation are planned during the evenings, so comfortable clothing is recommended.
Registration by the 22nd week of pregnancy is recommended for the in-person course.
The cost is 300 CHF per couple. Basic insurance participates with a contribution of 150 CHF for the course performed by a midwife.
6 video lessons lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes via an online platform, weekly starting from the 28th week of pregnancy (5 video lessons during pregnancy and one after delivery).
All documentation pertaining to the course, will be sent via e-mail along with any relaxation and body activation moments (audio/video).
Registration by the 24th week of gestation is recommended for the online course.
