EOChat Terms of Use

The virtual assistant uses the language capabilities of the GPT-4o model, via the OpenAI API to answer questions based on input (provided by you) and information on our EOC site.

The ChatBot used on the Cantonal Hospital Authority (EOC) site is designed to support you in navigating our site and provides only general, non-personalized information, such as:

• general questions about our services;
• links to useful forms and information;
• contact details;
• hospital locations;
• list of physicians;
• medical specialties featured.

When you ask a question, the virtual assistant will formulate a corresponding answer using built-in artificial intelligence (AI). EOC cannot guarantee that the answers will always be correct, complete or accurate. The scope of response is limited only to the content reported on the eoc.ch website, so the basic model does not draw from other sources of its knowledge to answer questions but refrains from answering questions not relevant to the mandate.

The ChatBot does not provide medical advice or collect personal data from users. The ChatBot's answers are for informational purposes, intended as a guide and in no way a substitute for the advice of a professional. For medical consultations or emergencies, users are encouraged to contact the EOC or their primary care physician directly.

During the use of the virtual chat assistant, information and data are anonymized: no personal data of users are collected, stored or processed. Data are collected and stored by means of specially appointed individuals in accordance with the law and are subsequently processed by the EOC in order to improve and further develop the EOC ChatBot (LLM).

Data are processed securely and treated confidentially, transmitted in encrypted form using Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS), stored in Switzerland and in accordance with applicable data protection regulations.

This data is transmitted and processed securely via AWS (Amazon Web Services) infrastructure via HTTPS and stored indefinitely as long as it can be useful for EOC analysis. The analysis is aimed at extending the content and information offered on the EOC site based on general user queries.

No cookies or tracking are used for profiling purposes.

Important: The data and context of your query will be stored temporarily for the duration of the conversation and may be taken into account for later queries.

Examine the answers critically and do not rely solely on them. Artificial intelligence is new to many of us and we need to learn how to handle it and recognize its limitations. The EOC is not responsible for any errors, omissions or inaccuracies in the answers provided by the ChatBot.

The EOC reserves the right to change these terms of use at any time. Changes will be posted on this site and will take effect immediately.
