The Digital Evolution and Technology Division is responsible for designing, developing, and managing the hospital’s technology ecosystem, leveraging digital expertise to support clinical, patient care, and organizational activities, and ensuring that every technology decision is geared toward improving care pathways and placing the patient at the center. From digital infrastructure to clinical systems, from biomedical technologies to cybersecurity, we develop an integrated ecosystem capable of supporting every phase of hospital operations, ensuring the continuity, reliability, and availability of information.

From this perspective, ICT and biomedical technologies constitute a single area of governance. The growing integration between information systems and medical devices requires converging expertise and coordinated management, aimed at ensuring security, interoperability, data quality, and support for clinical and care processes.

Innovation That Begins in the Hospital

A distinctive feature of our organization is the in-house design and development of the electronic health record. This approach allows us to create tools that are aligned with the needs of healthcare professionals and with the evolution of clinical and organizational processes, ensuring high levels of integration with other information systems and with the technologies in place at the hospital.

In-house development also represents a wealth of expertise that enables us to directly steer the evolution of digital solutions, leveraging the organization’s information assets and ensuring the ability to adapt tools to the organization’s needs.

Information on medical device software produced by the Division
  • Medical device software is developed by the AEDT’s Application Services department and used exclusively within the EOC itself.
  • The manufacture, management, maintenance, modification, and use of in-house medical devices take place within the framework of an appropriate Quality Management System, in accordance with the applicable requirements of Article 9 of the Ordinance on Medical Devices (ODmed) and Article 5(5) of Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR).
