Biomedical Library

The EOC Biomedical Library is an electronic platform for accessing scientific literature and biomedical databases.

The EOC Biomedical Library is the service through which EOC staff have access to scientific journals and biomedical databases. It is a digital service, meaning that all bibliographic and scientific documentation resources in the library are managed electronically. There are no paper files or physical spaces for the collection of scientific journals.
All medical, nursing and administrative staff of the EOC can benefit from the service. Access is restricted to EOC staff only.

Electronic Resources

The EOC Biomedical Library offers direct access to the full text (full text) of:

  • Approximately 1,500 electronic journals, by consortium or institutional subscription.

The EOC also subscribes to the following biomedical databases:

  • CINAHL with full text-about 300 journals with full access.
  • Cochrane Library (national subscription).
  • Nursing Center Reference Plus.
  • UpToDate.
  • Web Of Science.
  • WebOp.

Access to non-subscription electronic scientific journals is provided through the ordering service.

Electronic resources of the EOC Biomedical Library can be accessed through the platform of our partner Swissconsortium, a Swiss organization that provides support in the management of digital library services.

The platform is easy to use and includes the catalog of scientific journals and the list of biomedical databases, as well as some customization features, such as the creation of personalized alerts or the favorites list

Methods of access

The electronic resources of the EOC Biomedical Library can be accessed:

  • From locations within the EOC network (example from the office, study, lecture hall).
  • From locations outside the EOC network - remote access - by identification with user name and password (example from home or mobile devices).
