Fitness evaluations are conducted according to Swiss Olympic standards, with the goal of identifying any underlying pathologies and correcting cardiovascular risk factors in order to perform physical activity safely.

  • Sports medicine-internist examination.
  • Resting ECG.
  • Exercise ECG (cycloergometry/treadmill).
  • Possible laboratory analysis (basic or complete blood chemistry tests according to Swiss Olympic standards).
  • Possible spirometry (resting lung function).
  • Test analysis and final discussion.
  • Possible specialized electrophysiological consultation.
Sports-medical evaluation with performance diagnostics

Determination of physiological markers to cardiorespiratory adaptation to exertion (VO2max, ventilatory thresholds, respiratory volumes, etc.), allows setting training zones to improve their quality and performance.

  • Sports medicine-internist examination.
  • Resting ECG.
  • Exercise ECG (cycloergometry/treadmill).
  • Possible laboratory analysis (basic or complete blood chemistry tests according to Swiss Olympic standards).
  • Possible spirometry (resting lung function).

Optional services to assess athletic fitness:

  • Conconi test (with ECG) on ergometer (50 watts+10, 75 watts+15, 100 watts+20).
  • Lactate test (determination of anaerobic threshold).
  • Spiroergometry with ECG or cardiopulmonary testing (CPET) (determination of VO2max and aerobic/anaerobic ventilatory thresholds) on cycle ergometer or treadmill.
  • Wingate test on exercise bike.
  • Test analysis and final discussion.
Nutritional counseling

To complement the various laboratory tests, a series of biometric measurements can also be taken to allow for more accurate control: height, weight, lean mass, fat mass, body composition.

  • Consultation with nutritionist.
  • Body composition analysis with bioimpedance technique and BIVA vector analysis to detect parameters such as hydration status, lean mass (FFMI: Fat Free Mass Index), fat mass (FMI: Fat Mass Index).
  • Indirect calorimetry with face mask.
