Rooms

The patient is admitted to a single- or multi-bed room, depending on their insurance coverage or the specific condition of their health problem.

Useful information

Room equipment

All rooms are equipped with the necessary clinical devices to ensure patient safety (medical gas connection, safety call devices, etc.).
They are also equipped with:

  • Toilet with shower*.
  • Personal locker.
  • Telephone that can be activated with private card.
  • Television set.
  • Wi-fi.

*In some facilities you may still find some multi-bed rooms that do not have an in-room toilet, but a shared bathroom on the floor. Ongoing renovations, will allow this inconvenience to be resolved.

Coverage

If the patient is insured in a shared or semi-private room, he or she has the option of requesting a single room admission. If this is available, the additional costs not borne by the health insurance company will be borne by the patient and, for this reason, she will be required to make a deposit and sign an appropriate guarantee form.

Cleaning

Room cleaning takes place once a day and, of course, as needed.

Phone

Within their own room, the patient can use their own cell phone.
A telephone, which can be activated with a personal card, is also available. The nursing staff will be happy to explain to the patient how to activate and operate it.

Internet

The Internet can be accessed by connecting to the wi-fi network ((o)) EOC-Guest.

Valuables

The patient is asked not to carry jewelry, important documents or large sums of money.
Valuables may, however, be deposited at the hospital safe. Should the need arise, the nursing staff will provide the patient with the relevant information. There is a small box with a key in the room for depositing small personal items.

The EOC assumes no responsibility for missing money, jewelry and other valuables not deposited in the hospital safe.

Mail/correspondence

Should the patient need to send private correspondence, he or she can hand it over to the attending staff, who will be happy to forward it to the mail service employees.

Any correspondence addressed to the patient will be delivered to her by the attending staff. In order to facilitate this delivery, it is advisable for correspondence to arrive at the hospital address with the patient's first name, last name and, if possible, the patient's ward.

Personal aids

In order to avoid unintentional loss or damage of dentures, the hospital provides special containers, which can be requested from the nursing staff.
The patient is also urged to want to store after their use, contact lenses, glasses or hearing aids in their case and in their toiletry case (beauty case).

Flowers

Cut flowers are welcome and the necessary vases can be requested from the staff. Buried plants -for reasons of hygiene- are not allowed.

Smoke

Smoking, lighting candles or incense is prohibited in all rooms, including balconies.
In the various locations, the spaces where smoking is allowed are clearly demarcated.

USEFUL INFORMATION

How to recognize your own space in multi-bed rooms?

In multi-bed rooms, to make it easier for patients to recognize their own spaces where to store personal items, symbols with different colors are used: these symbols differentiate patients from their neighbors and are found on the closet and bathroom shelves.
