The moment of birth is a special and magical moment. Within the facilities of the institution, it is possible to take some professional photos of newborn babies. In fact, the EOC has agreements with photographers who specialize in newborn photography, who will be able to take the photos directly in the hospital. The staff of the maternity wards will ask if there is an interest to benefit from the service and will notify the first available session during the hospital stay. Of course, at least one parent must be present during the photo session. A 10x15 printed photo will be given to the parent free of charge and the same, with prior consent, may be published on the EOC website.

If mother and infant have been discharged before having the opportunity to use this service, the care team will seek a solution to allow them to return to the EOC facility again and thus take the photograph. Specifically, prior to returning home, the business card of the photographer on duty the current month will be given, with whom to make an appointment to return to the Hospital and do the Photography Service.

Several EOC facilities have a list with the names of hairdressers who have expressed their availability to work in the Hospital. Ask the treating staff if it is possible to take advantage of this option.

In any case, the patient can call a free-choice professional, who will need to bring all the necessary materials and will be able to operate directly in the patient's room. For technical reasons, however, it is not possible to perform perms or dyes. The intervention of the internal or external hairdresser, must be coordinated with the treating staff.

Dietary counseling is offered to both inpatients requiring diet therapy and outpatients with a doctor's prescription.

Nutrition is becoming a complex information field in which it is increasingly difficult to navigate. For this reason, specialists at the multisite hospital EOC offer their expertise by providing specific guidance in the field of diet and finding the right fit between the patient's clinical picture, medications, eating habits and lifestyle. This approach allows dietary counselors to set up individualized food therapy to support each patient's medical care.

Dietary counseling is available for the following problems:

• Allergy.
• Celiac disease.
• Diabetes.
• Dyslipidemia.
• Gout.
• Food intolerances.
• Malnutrition.
• Kidney disease and dialysis.
• Gastrointestinal diseases.
• Oncological diseases.
• Overweight/obesity.

The social service intervenes in the intake of patients in need, so as to create contact with services in the area with the aim of finding a solution to the patient's problems.

The social worker listens, supports the patient and his family, offers information and counseling, proceeds to an assessment of the social situation and resources of the patient trying in every way to promote his autonomy and social integration. She also plans, coordinates and participates in the implementation of decisions made with the patient, family, caregivers and outside services.

The social worker abides by the obligation of professional secrecy during the various stages of intervention.

On medical indication, the patient may be received during his or her stay in EOC facilities by counselors from the Cantonal Sociopsychiatric Organization's Psychiatry and Medical Psychology Service. Specialist consultations are especially recommended for those suffering from chronic or severely disabling illnesses or those in post-traumatic situations.

These consultations make it possible to take care of the emotional aspects related to the patient's state of health, support participation in treatment and aim to prevent a state of psychological distress.
