Pediatric hemato-oncology

• Blood abnormalities present from birth, affecting red blood cells, white blood cells, or platelets: thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, and coagulation disorders.
• Acute acquired situations: thrombosis or transfusion therapy.

Collaborations

In the field of pediatric oncology, the service is integrated into the network of Swiss clinics licensed for pediatric cancer treatment, in close collaboration with all Swiss university centers, and in particular with the Kinderspital in Zurich. Most conventional chemotherapies are performed, and there is active participation in international therapy protocols.

For surgical aspects and special therapies, such as stem cell transplantation, the point of reference is Kinderspital Zurich.
