Pediatric allergology

The Pediatric Allergology Service is dedicated to the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the main allergic diseases of childhood, offering a personalized and multidisciplinary approach. With specialized expertise and modern diagnostic methods, we accompany children and families on a safe and targeted course of treatment, with a focus on well-being and quality of life. Our team offers specialized consultation and comprehensive diagnostics for all atopic-related allergic diseases such as:

• atopic dermatitis;
• food allergies and intolerances;
• allergic rhinoconjunctivitis;
• allergic asthma and bronchial asthma;
• food intolerances;
• drug allergy;
• hymenoptera venom allergy;
• allergic contact dermatitis (with support from colleagues in the Allergy and Immunology Service and the EOC Dermatology Service).

Diagnosis

• Skin tests (prick tests, epicutaneous tests, intradermal tests).
• Measurement of specific IgE in serum.
• Provocation tests under medical supervision.
• Cellular tests in medicinal allergy with support from a reference laboratory in Bern.
• Spirometry and measurement of exhaled NO.
• Nasal provocation tests.
• Respiratory tests for lactose, fructose and lactulose intolerance.

Treatments

• Specific immunotherapies (desensitization) for respiratory and hymenoptera venom allergies.
• Specific immunotherapy ("Oral Immunotherapy" - OIT) for food allergy.
• Immunotherapy with biological medicines.
