Taking care of patients with internist issues
Punto Medico is defined as the general internal medicine outpatient clinic integrated with the CMU (Consultorio medicina di urgenza), which allows for the care of patients with internal medicine problems both by appointment and on an urgent basis (bagatelle cases only). Starting from a primary care physician model integrated into the hospital, it allows physicians working there to coordinate visits by appointment.
The service also intends to target a segment of the population with difficulties in accessing care (e.g., patients with socio-medical frailties, adolescents and young adults, and women, thus developing gender-based medicine).
The goal of the service is to ensure adequate and quality services, as well as to improve accessibility and equity of care. Through coordination and collaboration with different OBV stakeholders, particularly specialist outpatient clinics, the Medical Point offers multidisciplinary and holistic care.
