- Provide specialized counseling service at the diagnostic and therapeutic level and for patients with psychiatric and/or psychological disorders concomitant with somatic disorders.
- Provide emergency intervention for patients admitted to emergency rooms or hospitals with acute psychiatric problems.
- Provide crisis intervention and supportive therapies during hospitalization and on an outpatient basis.
- To provide physicians-in-training with basic knowledge in psychiatry and medical psychology and training in psychosocial medicine (psychosomatics) to the nursing staff.
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of training programs for the purpose of improving the caregiver-patient-family relationship with special attention to communication aspects.
- Develop research in the field of psychosocial medicine.
