Department of Surgery
The EOC Department of surgery has seen with enthusiasm the challenge of becoming player in the Swiss academic surgical scene, also in view of the upcoming Master of Biomedicine of USI. Research has become part of the curriculum for young surgeons in Lugano and Bellinzona, and will be included in the structured training programme
Department of Internal Medicine
The Department of Medicine groups together the general Internal Medicine Services provided by the EOC hospitals, as well as specialty areas akin to internal medicine such as: angiology, cardiology, clinical nutrition, dermatology, endocrinology-diabetology, gastroenterology, hepatology, immune-allergology, infectiology, nephrology, pneumology, and rheumatology.
Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics
The newly constituted EOC Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics offers cutting-edge medical assistance for all aspects of female pathologies. The Department is deployed over the cantonal territory with four hospital facilities, which guarantee capillary distribution of first line gynecological and obstetrical interventions, while concentrating complex procedures within specialized Units, where centralization offers the opportunity to develop necessary skills and experience to deliver personalized medicine and conduct scientific research.
Department of Critical Care
The EOC Department of Critical Care is a functional department which includes the Services of Intensive Care, Anesthesia and Emergency Medicine of the four hospitals of the EOC. Aim of the Department is to coordinate the activities of these 12 services, aligning them to the EOC vision and mission, with a particular focus on safety and quality of care.
