14th Lecture of the Year

The “Lecture of the Year” has been initiated in 2009 with the support of the Fondazione Sir John Eccles to demonstrate our commitment to excellence. We had the privilege to welcome researchers from all over the world, who gave significant contributions in the field of basic and clinical neurosciences.

This year the INSI is pleased to honor Luis de Lecea, MD Professor Standford University, California USA for his outstanding contributions and pioneer work in the area of “Hypocretins: from the discovery to new applications”. The INSI in Lugano is the only Neurocenter in the Southern Italian speaking region of Switzerland and regroups all public institutions dealing with Neurology, Neuroimaging, Neurosurgery,
Pain center and Ophthalmology encompassing the whole spectrum of neurosciences disciplines, in close collaboration with the USI and other Swiss and international universities and research institutions.
