Early diagnosis of multiple sclerosis and prediction of disease course is the main research focus of the multidisciplinary team of neurologists, a neuroradiologist and a neuropsychologist. They investigate the use of specific biomarkers such as serum filaments and develop innovative MRI techniques to detect early signals of the disease. A second field is exploring symptoms of multiple sclerosis concerning treatment related inconveniences, fatigue and psychosocial factors with the goal to ease disease burden and enhance treatment adherence. The group contributes also to a nationwide project to study the epidemiology of multiple sclerosis in Switzerland.
