The multisite Departments and Services are structures that are transversal to all EOC Institutes and are an organizational model of clinical management.
The Departments are, as a rule, the functional and organizational integration of operational units that are homogeneous, similar, or complementary to and mutually dependent on one another, sharing the same goals – which could not be achieved otherwise. They are, however, clinically independent, with their own separate professional responsibility.
The Departments are made up of the relevant services, divisions and units, grouped according to nosology, function and size. The needs for clinical governance are also taken into account in the organization of the Departments.
