Service Description
The main objectives of this service are to promote the development of nursing care by integrating theory with practice and to enhance the participation of nurses in clinical research, particularly in nursing field. The nurses who work in this service are specialised in various areas (research, transplants, training, etc.).
The treatment quality of the oncology patient depends mostly on the level of professional knowledge of nursing staff. It is essential, especially for such an advanced centre as the IOSI, not only to rely on highly specialised nurses, but also to provide high quality nursing care. Therefore, clinical staff strongly believes that professional training and experience are the key factors in the improvement of this service.
"The Nursing Team is particularly aware of the importance of clinical and nursing research both in fight against cancer and in therapy improvement. For this reason, the team is committed to respecting national and international guidelines, such as "Good Clinical Practice".
Taken from medical treatment philosophy of IOSI.
